An Easy Way To Fix Non-System Drive Or Compaq Drive Errors
Speed up your PC in minutes
If you have determined that Compaq is not a system drive, or if you have a drive error, the following guide will help you. Any hard disk partition other than the system partition (drive C:) is considered a non-system partition. This will be D:, E:, etc.

A non-system disk error or disk error message may well appear when the computer’s BIOS cannot find a bootable operating system using one of the storage devices that make up the laptop’s boot pad.
When starting the laptop, several test devices for the operating system are displayed here in a fixed order. You can change the search order by changing the boot order in the computer’s BIOS.
Use one or more of the following methods to reduce the chance of a boot failure or non-system drive black filter error. Different models, and therefore different BIOSes, can provide completely different methods for accessing hard-coded diagnostic tests.
MostFor models, press the F10 key during boot to enter the BIOS setup environment, and then simply select the disk scan test.
On some models, when an error message appears, you will be prompted to press the F2 key. In this case, the F2 key opens the BIOS environment and allows customers to run a diagnostic test on the hard drive without trying to wake the computer from sleep.
On some 2009 and later models with a UEFI preboot environment, you will be prompted to press the F2 key. You may need to access HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
Usually Remove A Non-system Drive From The Computer
Because the boot order is currently subject to change, most computers can access this non-operating system disc via a CD/DVD optical drive. Use the Delete steps on all non-system drives and even restart your computer. All
Disconnect the USB and 1394 (Firewire) devices connected to the computer.
Remove all CDs and DVDs from the Drang folder.
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to turn on the computer incorrectly.

Press and release the key to turn on the computer without hesitation.
If the computer boots normally after ejecting the non-system CD, reset the default boot order in one person’s BIOS as shown in the next user’s method.
Reset Load Order
On most models, press the F10 Home key at startup to enter System Setup, select Options, Boot, and then select Boot Order to view the boot process. To change the sequence to the default settings, press F9 and then Yes to load the default settings.
Test The Product Thoroughly
Many computer startup problems are caused by minor bugs in the software that mostSpecifies whether files are stored on the hard drive. A hard pump test detects and corrects these errors, but does not provide a detailed account of everything that needs to be done. To run the test, there must be a good physical connection between the hard drive and the computer. If the computer is moved or shaken, the hard drive may become dislodged and the Net-Link connection may be interrupted, which may cause the trial offer to fail or prevent the trial from running.
Run HP Hard Drive Self Test
Follow these steps if you want to check your hard drive for errors using the HP Hard Drive Self Test.
Connect the AC adapter to your computer.
If the computer is on, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to turn off the following items.
Press and release the power switch to turn on the computer, hold and repeatedly press the F10 key to open the BIOS composition window.
Use the right arrow key toTo select the Tools or Diagnostics menu.
Your BIOS version may have a small number of menu item names.
Select Hard Drive Self Test. Enter
Click and run the test.
The self-test process can include both a quick test and a simple full test. It also gives test time to evaluate.
If everything went well, the tests did not damage the drive. All
After sufficient testing, contact HP Support for instructions.
After the hard drive self-test is complete, restart your computer if you need to verify that the problem is corrected.
Perform EUFI disk test
If your latest BIOS does not have a hard drive self-test, run the EUFI hard drive test. You can perform six hard drive tests. Test a quick test first (2 to a few minutes). If the quick test doesn’t reveal the problem, run our own advanced test (you canmaybe 2 more hours).
